The noise surrounding the Los Angeles Charger disappears, as they continue to get injured.
The Los Angeles Chargers have made off-season moves, adding the likes of Khalil Mack and JC Jackson, to help achieve their goal of making the playoffs for the first time since 2016. But so far, the Chargers’ hype has been pared down by the injuries the team has suffered thus far. Now, the injury list continues to grow for the Chargers after their 38-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pellisero, left-footed starter Rashawn Slater has ruptured his biceps tendon in week three, and will have to miss the remainder of the 2022 season.
Passing star Joey Bossa has left the Week 3 game with a thigh injury. Head coach Brandon Staley revealed that the injury is big and it’s week by week.
Injuries from chargers keep piling up
Slater’s loss this season is bad news for quarterback Justin Herbert, who last week suffered a rib fracture against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is an injury he keeps playing with. Now, he would have to do it without the blind barrier.
Meanwhile, losing Bossa for an indefinite period of time is devastating to the defense. He was the sack leader from last season.
During the first three games of the season, Bossa scored seven combined tackles, four quarterback hits, two tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks.
In every NFL season, there is one team that gets seriously injured. In 2022, that team is the Los Angeles Chargers.
